Over the years, Canada has greatly matured as a nation. Within our international role, our change in society and identity, Canada has created a very diverse country. These changes has had both positive and negative effects attached to them. A lot can happen in 75 years and it has, especially within the years of 1945-2000. Including international crisis's such as the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Suez Crisis, the International Role improved. However, during this period, Canada was thinking of their autonomy and made decisions that would effect relationships in the future. On the other hand, by having many new cultures in Canada, this meant society needed to adapt to something that was unfamiliar, eventually changing society for the better. However, during this time arose a new interest in doing drugs, rebelling and promoting peace. Making many older citizens concerned for the outcome of this none sense. Furthermore, another aspect of Canada's maturing is the change in its identity. Identity always has been and always will be something difficult to find. During the process of Canada finding identity, we have gone through struggles as a country that still need improving to this day. More positively, Canada has an all around great reputation and has been a place where people feel relatively safe. This website provides a report card on Canada from 1945-2000.
